Whatever you’ll remember 2020 as — the year we all stayed home, the year the world stood still, the year to forget — it underscored one thing: the importance of technology. It helped us stay connected, and enabled us to keep working, learning, and having fun. 2020 was also the year that more consumers than ever before discovered the advantages of online platforms and flexible subscription models.

Grover’s aim — making technology accessible to everyone — is more relevant than ever, and we’re lucky to be able to look back on a year of record growth and important business milestones. 

 

Here are some of our highlights:

 – We came rushing out of the gates in January with €195 million in asset-backed funding — our biggest fund-raising yet.

– By the end of the year, we had over 130,000 subscriptions running on Grover.com, and shipped more than 140,000 orders.

– We surpassed €50 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in the fall — a revenue milestone only very few companies achieve in their first five years.

– We launched Grover in the Netherlands and grew 17x in international markets.

– We added 1,000 new products to Grover.com and purchased €60 million worth of the highest quality tech in 10 different categories.

– We launched our own-branded GroverGo e-scooter, with 90% of the fleet in action right now.

– As the year came to a close, we reached a total of 175,000 devices refurbished and recirculated since we got started — and saved 775 tons of e-waste in the process.

– We rolled out tech subscriptions with our first brand manufacturer partners, Samsung Germany and iRobot.

– We welcomed new retail partners, bringing the “Rent with Grover” option to more than 3,000 product pages in our partners’ online shops.

– We grew 2x with Grover Business – our sub-brand aimed at B2B customers – and equipped thousands of businesses with the tech they needed to keep their wheels turning.

– We doubled down on customer centricity, maintaining an excellent Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 62 on average.

– We made Grover.com smoother, sleeker, and faster with dozens of new product features, like our shiny new customer dashboard and payment management experience.

– Above all, we kept our team intact, with zero jobs affected by COVID-19. What’s more, we welcomed 75 new hires, almost doubling the team to over 160 kick-ass professionals from 30+ nations.

 

Looking back at 2020, we can only be grateful — grateful that it’s over 😉 But mostly, we’re grateful to have made it through bigger, stronger, and more united than ever before. We’re ready to fill 2021 with new highlights, together with our customers, partners, and our extraordinary team!
